Detailed searchBuying guide
- 1
Search for what you actually need
Start with the item name or model, then narrow by category, budget and city. Think about transport before choosing a large item: a cheap sofa is little use if it will not fit in your car or stairwell. Compare the total cost, including collection or delivery, rather than the asking price alone.
- 2
Ask about what the photos do not show
Read the full description and inspect every photo. Ask about faults, repairs and missing accessories. Request a recent close-up of wear or the model label when it would help identify the item. The seller's profile and reviews can provide context, but they do not guarantee the condition of an item.
- 3
Agree the details and inspect before deciding
Keep a written agreement about the exact item, accessories, price and handover. Allow time to test it at collection. You need not go ahead if its condition differs from the description. For delivery, agree packaging, costs and how you will handle damage before sending anything.
Selling guide
- 1
Show the actual condition
Take your own well-lit photos from several angles, including separate pictures of faults. Name the item and its main feature in the title. Include dimensions, condition, working status and everything included in the description. Do not borrow another listing's photos or describe something as faultless without checking it.
- 2
Compare like with like when pricing
Look at similar models in similar condition. An advertised price does not prove an item sold for that amount. Allow for missing accessories or repairs, and say whether you will consider offers. An accurate city and clear collection options prevent many unnecessary questions.
- 3
Keep your listing current
Answer questions specifically and update the description if you notice another fault. Before handover, check together what is included in the price. Mark the listing as sold afterwards so people do not keep asking about an unavailable item. Back up electronics, then remove your personal data and accounts before handing them over.
What should you check at collection?
Phones, laptops and electronics
Test the display, buttons, charging and ports. Ask about battery condition and previous repairs. Have the seller show that previous accounts have been removed and the device can be activated. A factory reset alone does not remove every device's account lock.
Furniture and household items
Measure the item, doorways and transport route. Inspect joints, drawers, upholstery and less visible surfaces. Agree whether it comes apart, whether all screws are included, which floor it must be collected from and who will help carry it.
Clothing and sports equipment
Ask for actual measurements as well as the label size. Inspect seams, zips, soles and parts under load. With protective equipment, an attractive photo cannot establish its history. If there are signs of damage or previous impact, do not let a low price decide for you.
What an informative listing looks like
“Wooden dining table, 120 × 80 × 75 cm, collection in Budapest. Stable, with two scratches on the top shown in separate photos. Legs can be removed and all screws are included. Ground-floor collection; delivery is not available.”
Illustrative example, not an actual offer. Measurements, faults and collection details help a buyer much more than ‘great condition, great price’.
Safer trading
Fabricon helps people make contact. A profile, review or promoted listing does not replace your own checks or guarantee a transaction.
- Never enter card details, online banking passwords or one-time login codes through a link sent by a buyer or seller. Receiving money does not require your card's security code.
- Be cautious if someone rushes you, avoids questions about the item or uses a courier story to send you to an unfamiliar payment page. Open the provider's website yourself instead of following the message link.
- Choose a public meeting place where practical. Arrange help for bulky collections and share only the address information needed. Check your own account for received funds rather than trusting a payment screenshot.
- Keep your correspondence. Use the listing's report option for misleading or prohibited content. For technical problems, the contact form in the footer is available even when you are signed out.
Common questions
Do I need an account to browse?
You can browse public listings and categories without an account. Posting listings, messaging and leaving reviews require registration and a verified email address. Additional access conditions apply to some age-restricted content.
Am I buying from Fabricon?
You buy from the advertiser. Fabricon provides the marketplace; buyer and seller agree the price, payment and handover. Publishing or promoting a listing does not mean Fabricon has inspected the item.
How do I find items near me?
Choose a city on the homepage or use the location filters in detailed search. Combine location with category and price to narrow the results. Always confirm the exact collection place and time with the seller.
What should my first message ask?
Go beyond asking whether it is still available. Identify the item, ask about unmentioned faults, included accessories and whether you can test it, then suggest a collection time. This helps establish whether the offer suits you.
What if a listing is wrong or suspicious?
Use the listing's report option and describe the issue clearly. For problems with the website or your account, use the contact form in the footer. Do not include passwords or banking login details in your message.
